Job Description

The Community Manager is the voice of our brands within their semi-owned properties, has a keen understanding of power of conversation and the value of relevant and current information in the online space. They are brand aware and sensitive to the nuances of conversation and interaction – enabling them to articulately and swiftly frame responses to both positive and negative comments and conversation streams, working with the team where necessary to engage audiences. Community Manager is both original content producers and optimisers of existing brand and consumer content, understanding how the social tools available can shape, facilitate and evolve the messages we are creating.
In this role you will be working as a part of local and regional team serving one of the largest software companies in the world.

Major Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for day-to-day management of the client’s social media presence.
• Minute by minute participation in conversations that surround our clients’ brand, product and services – identified by active listening, social monitoring and ongoing research
• Answering comments and being a brand evangelist within a range of social properties
• Distributing or seeding content and promoting it within real-time conversations
• Flagging detractor/content threats and advocate/content opportunities to the team that are uncovered through direct interaction with consumers
• Liaising with internal client departments to frame responses as and when required
• Moderating content on owned media properties
• Inputting into the content strategies and owned property strategies, owning and evolving conversation calendars and production schedules

Skills

Qualifications:

• Fluency in English and Arabic (Saudi dialect prefered)
• BA Degree with English or Arabic language, communications, literature or creative writing a plus
• An active participant in the blogosphere, with demonstrable engagement in blogging, microblogging, forums, and other key online engagement activities 
• Experience in digital PR/blogger outreach/content seeding/buzz generation is benefit
• Have direct consumer interaction experience (call centre, sales, events, on-line or in person)
• Native understanding of Saudi culture (traditional and youth)

Knowledge/Skill Set

Technical: 30%
• A digital ‘native’ with knowledge of all existing and emerging digital channels
• Strong understanding of the web’s social architecture, how different communities need to be engaged and how relationships are best managed within branded and consumer channels
• A working knowledge of SEO, keyword strategies, copy optimisation, off-page promotion and link strategies
• Articulate and engaging writing style with core grammatical competence

Business: 30%
• Understanding of social currency and the commercial value of relationships within social media
• Understanding of brands, community engagement and tone of voice, and where social fits within the broad marketing mix

Managerial: 20%
• Confident, personable with great presentation skills 
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Ability to manage upwards to get what you need from a range of internal and external stakeholders

Interpersonal: 20%
• Ability to take direction within the context of a tight knit team
• Confidence to embrace and articulate a point of view
