Job Description

Position Summary:
The Manager of E-Mail & Collaboration Services manages enterprise E-Mail and collaboration systems. He / She also assists with the oversight of directory services, identity management infrastructure of Microsoft Exchange application, E-Fax Services, Microsoft Lync and hosted mailboxes in Microsoft Office 365 cloud.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages the administration of the messaging and directory application servers.
• Provides next level of support for the Helpdesk by solving E-Mail server related problems on own initiative.
• Manages the provisioning of the mailboxes (adds, deletes, modifies) and the address lists in collaboration with the Helpdesk.
• Write PowerShell scripts to automate the bulk tasks.
• Manages the Microsoft Forefront identity management connectors between on premises Exchange and cloud (office 365).
• Collaborates with the Active Directory Administrators on creating static and dynamic distribution groups as per users’ requests.
• Manages and monitor E-Fax services in integration with messaging infrastructure.
• Responsible for managing Microsoft Lync 2013 and related unified communication services.
• Manages the backup and recovery of mailboxes and disaster recovery of the message databases.
• Manages the overall E-Mail routing configurations and client mailbox access at the E-Mail server level.
• Coordinates the E-Mail application support with the vendors.
• Develops, implements and documents configuration standards, policies and procedures for operating, managing and ensuring the security of the enterprise E-Mail and UC systems.
• Monitors and verifies performance and capacity of the system as well as creating regular reports.
• Prepares and presents reports about the performance and capacity of the E-Mail / UC system on regular basis for management.
• Works as a member of the server specifications, procurement and installation team for new enterprise E-Mail servers and services.
• Manages the E-Mail transport security and management of the E-Mail system (anti-spam and antivirus).
• Works with the Active Directory Administrators on proper structure and configuration for Microsoft Exchange.
• Updates the MS Exchange and Lync systems with the latest service packs from vendors.
• Supports Blackberry Enterprise Server and Blackberry devices.
• Ensures Service Level Objectives are met through tracking E-Mail metrics.
• Resolves complex E-Mail administrative and support issues on own initiative.
• Develops knowledge of the infrastructure required to provide E-Mail services.
• Monitors Microsoft Exchange and Lync systems to facilitate proper performance and performs diagnostics as needed.
• Develops, implements and documents configuration standards, policies and procedures for operating, managing and ensuring the security of the Microsoft Exchange Servers.
• Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Technical Skills Required:
• At least 5 years’ experience with Microsoft Exchange 2007, 2010.
• At least 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Lync based UC infrastructure.
• 4 - 6 years’ experience in E-Mail & Unified communication server administration and support.
• MCSE or MCSM in messaging certification.
• ITIL v3 foundation certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of E-Mail systems architecture.
• Expert knowledge of the infrastructure required to provide E-Mail services.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange E-Mail systems (Exchange 2007, 2010, 2013).
• Expert in Microsoft Lync 2013 integration with Exchange and other unified communication infrastructures.
• Administration experience of E-Fax services, particularly OpenText RightFAX”.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory requirements and administration related tasks for Microsoft Exchange.
• Good hands on experience of deploying and managing “Office 365 Hybrid deployment”.
• In-depth knowledge of SMTP protocol and Exchange serves communication principles.
• Strong knowledge of DNS zoning and definitions for internet E-Mail communication.
• Expert in infrastructure required to provide E-Mail services using Microsoft Exchange.
• Strong knowledge of SMTP Gateway Devices and antivirus /anti-spam solutions related to E-Mail systems.
• Expert at root cause analysis, problem solving/resolution of E-Mail systems.
• Knowledge of the ITIL methodology.
• Solid understanding of service management, change management, contracts management and IT Governance processes.
• Ability to document all information related to messaging infrastructure.
• Good communication and report writing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
• Available 24x7 on call in case of any critical need which affects availability of his/her owned services.
• Strong interpersonal, team, negotiation, communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in messaging design and implementation.
• Proficiency in multi domain mail routing and Active Directory Federation Services.
• Strong network troubleshooting skills.


Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field
