Assistant Restaurant Manager - Dubai, UAE

Job Description

•Manage shifts which include: daily decision making, scheduling, planning on Manager absence.
•Upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.

•Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.

•Provide training and recognition to employees at all levels and maintain a team-oriented environment.

•Open and close shift in accordance with manager's checklist.

•Train, maintain and enforce all Switch service standards using use records, menus and appropriate reference materials.

•Handle daily associate relations (. scheduling, time adjustments).

•Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all associates and guests.

•Gather and implement all proper tools for running shift, (. schedules, floor plans, reservations, check lists).

•Find solutions for problems such as food complains.

•Ensure that guests are satisfied by assisting with serving, seating, communicating with kitchen and by striving to speak to all guests.

•Be on the floor during entire meal period and ensure adequate coverage.

•Conduct food tastings and food quality control on a daily basis for restaurant.

•Ensure that only a quality product is being served.

•Monitor hours and staffing on a daily basis, for restaurant, with accurate scheduling in line forecast and budget guidelines.

•Ensure all side-works are done on daily basis.

•Maintain proper associate uniform standards.

•Manage an effective repair and maintenance program through the use of work orders, inspections, etc.

•Assist any associate in his/her job performance, when required, to ensure guest satisfaction.

•Understand and teach empowerment principles to ensure guest satisfaction.

•Exercise station rotation to ensure stations are distributed fairly.

Skills

•Good people management skills, communication and listening skills. Must be flexible and adaptable to changes.

•Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.

•Quality control, be responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service.

•Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.

•HR skills: develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews.

•Previous experience in restaurant management/hotel preferred.

•Arabic speaking would be an advantage.
